Earlier I told a way to add favicon using Editor. Now there is a WordPress pluin to add favicon easily.

Procedure:

1. Create a image file using your favorite program like MS paint.
2. Upload it to www.html-kit.com/favicon
and download favicon file.
3. You will get favicon.ICO file. Upload it to photo sharing site like PhotoBucket and image URL.
4. Go to Add a New Plugin Page and search for All in One Favicon and install that plugin. Go to the Settings > All in One Favicon.
5. Paste the favicon image URL to the Frontend ICO. And save settings.

Now your WordPress website will have new favicon.

Tag Cloud help visitors to find posts related to a particular tag. Hence displaying tag cloud can help you in reducing the bounce rate and also developing some loyal readers for your blog.

Using an animated flash tag cloud can be visually exciting and add to the beauty of your blog. You can see an example on my blog in sidebar, in “TAG CLOUD” tab. This is added by installing a WordPress plugin named – WP-Cumulus.

It’s author says,

WP-Cumulus allows you to display your site’s tags, categories or both using a Flash movie that rotates them in 3D. It works just like a regular tags cloud, but is more visually exciting. Clicking the tags can be a little hard (depending on your speed setting) but does take you to the appropriate page .

With this plugin you can select the background color of your flash tag clod and also the color of tag links.

After installing the plugin, just add this code <?php wp_cumulus_insert(); ?>wherever you want to display your animated flash tag cloud.

Comment spam is increasingly becoming a menace these days.Thanks god there is Akismet to filter out spams from the genuine comments. But still Akismet is not 100% accurate and can mark some genuine comments as spam. And if you care enough to manuaaly check the Akismet spams before deleting it, it becomes a headache.

Link exchange is one of the most important methods to increase your link popularity and get more traffic for your site. You can do reciprocal link exchange manually or by using some link exchange scripts.

I prefer the scripts over the manual process as later is very time consuming and at times frustrating, and with scripts you can automatically check whether the links for your sites still exist or not, and can delete links of sites not showing your links.

Actually I tried this plugin earlier for one of my blogs. Though it was installed successfully,I was not able to build sitemaps with it. I don’t know what was the problem that time. Whenever I click on build sitemap link I use to get some fatal errors. I checked whats worng, but everything was ok,also I changed the permissions of files – ‘sitemap.xml’ and ‘sitemap.xml.gz’ successfully but still no use. But now on this blog everything is fine.

What does this plugin do ?

This plugin creates the sitemap for your blog and submits it to major search engines -  Google,Yahoo,MSN and ASK .This way helps getting more pages from your blog to get indexed in these search engines, thus more chances of getting traffic through these search engines.

Does this plugin improves your Search Engine Ranking ?

I don’t think it can help you get higher ranks in search engine results page.I only indexes more pages from your blog.
