but directories will give u very deep links, which will hardly be considered by any search engine, you can try it tough

I feel like directory backlinks will work on keywords that have low competition. They are great as they require little effort a few of them can get you ranked well.

@ Dvd Exposed – I once paid a guy for submission to some 500 directories, though I got the confirmation mails from directories,,,but it didn’t add to my PR.

Nice, thank you for the tips. I agree with it and will start doing some of the things you advice. I would have to put my 2 cents on directory submission though. I submitted my new site to all of the directories listed on easysubmits.com in 2 days and noticed quite a few backlinks in a month and my PR went up on the next update. However, I submitted close to 800 directories, got approved by around 500 and got under 20 backlinks. I think it takes time for google to re-index the pages on the directories or it just indexes a few…
