Hi everybody,it’s Raman here.
I am part-time blogger.(and a full-time medical student).Well I started blogging one year back with Google’s Blogger. After making some good money from my Blogger blogs I thought hosting my blog on my own domain.
Thogh Blogger provides you the option of having your own domain I preferred host it on private server rather and installed a Wordpress Blog.
It’s for the first time that I am hosting a wordpress blog and was quiet worried about it installation procedure. But everything happened smoothly. After uploading the wordpress to my server the later process took less than 3 minutes and my blog was ready.
The Webmaster’s Blog is my effort to share the experiences that I had while blogging and website monetization and seo and so on…… with you guys and also learn about your experiences.I know how difficult it’s for a new webmaster to start earning from your blog/site.So here I want to help them to earn better from internet in general and websites in particular.
Tha’s it with my first post.

Congratulations on making the change over to wordpress, I am sure you will get the hang of it soon!
One thing I inmediately notice is that you haven´t updated your permalink structure and I would recommend you do that asap
At present your posts are showing up as /?p= … instead of taking advantage of putting keywords in your titles, have a quick look at your wordpress admin panel, “settings” -> permalinks and set it to your customer settings so that your posts will show up as /title-of-the-post instead of the default setting you are using now.
If you need any help, just let me know!

oops, forgot to mention, if you change it around now, you might have to update the posts you already made, since it would change the url settings but since you only have 2 posts I am sure it isn´t that big a problem

Hey Mirjam, thanks for checking out my blog. Also thanks for your suggestions for permalink structure,I knew it and also how it helps in getting good SERP,….but I am using Wordpress 2.6 ….and there is some bug in it’s permalink function, whenever I use custom pernalinks structure,it gives 404 error, and when use default one i.e “/?p=” then only my blog is visible…..looking desperately for it’s fix,but haven’t got it…..also the forums have been of no help
Anyways nice to have you here.

hey there
I am using 2.6 as well without having any problems with the permalink structure. Did you try the permalink structure change before posting or after you already made a few posts? If you are referring to 404 messages because you changed the permalink structure after already having posted a few articles, you might want to check out the following link:
http://scrapur.com/index/wordpress/steps-before-changing-permalink-in-wordpress/
they write about a few plugins you can install before changing the permalink structure, without having the 404 page not found problem
good luck!
