Best CAPTCHA plugin for WordPress to prevent Comment Spam.

Comment spam is increasingly becoming a menace these days. Thanks god there is Akismet to filter out spams from the genuine comments. But still Akismet is not 100% accurate and can mark some genuine comments as spam. And if you care enough to manuaaly check the Akismet spams before deleting it, it becomes a headache.
Here comes the role of WordPress CAPTCHA plugins. These plugins add CAPTCHA images to your post comments form, thus helping you to prevent comment spam on your blog.
There are many CAPTCHA plugins for WordPress available. But I think re-CAPTCHA is a lot better than others. It also provides the hidemail service with the same plugin. This hidemail prevents the display of email address of your blog users to spam bots, thus reducing the email-spam.
You can download the plugin here.

This is a great resource. As spammers get more and more diligent in scanning blogs this becomes more and more necessary.
Hi there,
I just installed the reCAPTCHA plugin for WordPress yesterday but already a spam comment got into my blog – Akismet caught it and listed it as spam.
I’ve just read that reCAPTCHA has been hacked so it’s effectively of no use. I find it yet another barrier to visitors leaving comments – which all bloggers want to encourage, so for now I’ve disabled it.
Any ideas what to try next?
Simon
I’ve no idea….though I would personally like to stay with recaptcha.
thanks for this. great plugin.
Great post Thanks
thanks for sharing…very usefull
Thanks for your great post… But I’m seeking and still can’t see how to put captcha before publish post, I have seen this some sites but can’t find the plugin. All of them almost the same to prevent auto comment, registration and/or contact form.
From Dashboard go to Add new plugin and search for “WordPress CAPTCHA”. Click on Install and then activate it. That’s all.
There is also keypic, a good way to avoid spam and don’t use captchas
