At last permalink 404 error problem solved……..

permalink-404-error

In my last post I mentioned that after upgrading to WordPress 2.6 I got this permalink problem.

I did some research and found that you need to have Apache server with rewrite_mod enabled for the permalink structure to work. I enquired my host about the server type – which was IIS which was not supporting the rewrite function. That was the main reason for permalink 404 error in my case.

Now I changed my host (to Apache server) and also upgraded to WordPress 2.6.1 version, and now my premalinks are working fine now.

Don’t know whether it’s because of changing host or upgrade to higher version, but I got rid of this permalink 404 error at last.
